Missionary Impossible: Jewish responses to Christian Missionaries Eli Cohen
Jewish people often feel frustrated and defensive when faced by the persistent questions of born-again Christian friends, neighbours, business associates and missionaries. We may know that Jews don't believe in Jesus, but we are not able to give a cogent and articulate explanation of our beliefs. In this program, we examine some of the more common missionary claims and demonstrate the Jewish response based upon Biblical sources. Among other issues, we will look at the Jewish idea of the Messiah, atonement from sin and why we don't include the New Testament in our cannon.

Understanding the Jewish Question: Zionist perspectives and solutions Paul Forgasz
Fuelled by their failure to achieve emancipation and the dramatic rise of anti-Semitism, Eastern European Jewish thinkers proposed a “Zionist solution” to the Jewish question. However, there was no one unified view about the nature of the problem or the solution. In this session we will examine the conflicting streams of Zionism that emerged by the early 20th century and which infused the Jewish State with deep ideological tensions following its creation in 1948.
